In a charming Provencalvillage , nature and art intermingle to create a true cultural meditation. A must-see destination for contemporary art lovers,Château Charleval is open to artistic creation. Daniel Rocher, artist, patron and collector, has been the happy owner of the premises since April 2019. After some renovation work on the Renaissance-style château built in the mid-19th century, the Provence Art Gallery will open its doors in May 2021 .

An open-air art trail

Château Charleval is anarchitectural gem of singular character, with no better vocation than that offered by Daniel Rocher: the sharing of art in all its forms. He has succeeded in making this a place that skilfully combines the preservation of historical heritage with thepromotion of contemporary art, giving life to a surprising but successful contrast . The world of Château Charleval begins in the garden, between nature and heritage, past and present. The château's 7-hectare gardens have been transformed into an open-air art trail, offering visitors an immersive experience in contemporary art. The works on display orchestrate the circulation between the different areas of the site, marking the whole of an original itinerary rich in discovery. Here again, serenity, calm and tranquillity come together to embellish the discovery of each creation scattered throughout the gardens.

Regional, national and international artists at Château Charleval

Daniel Rocher sees in art a certain utopia capable of making the world a better place, and sees in every artist a messenger of suspended time. With this in mind, he invites you to this special place, which he likes to describe as a refuge from the prevailing gloom, to discover contemporary art and the works that stir his emotions. In all, no fewer than 200 works bycontemporary artists of regional, national and international renown are on display in the garden, the two galleries and the Château. These artistic encounters make Château Charleval a true cultural mediation open to creation, where painters and sculptors take pride of place. The avant-garde and often monumental works on display reflect the richness of today's creativity .

Art exhibition and sale

Château Charleval is a private venue that houses Daniel Rocher's personal collection and encourages encounters between art lovers and artists. Its historic setting, exhibitions and open-air tour make it a must for art collectors in the region. Visits are intimate and by appointment only, to take the time to understand the artists' work, their moods and their surprising yet obvious combinations.

It's a place for those who wish to discover a new vision of art, but above all for those who feel the urge to invite it into their homes, indoors or out. In fact, Daniel Rocher welcomes a small minority of works on a permanent basis, leaving the others to invite themselves into the homes of those who aspire to acquire bold and inspiring contemporary artistic creations.
