Saint-Contest. 2 medals for Alexis de Vigan at the Coupe de France de Wushu 2023
Alexis de Vigan, teacher emeritus at the Bai Long school, shone this weekend at the FFK-Wushu Coupe de France 2023, winning two silver medals in Taiji-Quan (bare hands and sword categories).
A member of Maître Yuan Hong Hai's competition team for several years, Alexis de Vigan has already scored several victories, including two gold medals at the Deauville Open, a gold medal at the Île-de-France Championships, and a gold medal at the Coupe de France 2022. This latest success underlines his ongoing commitment to progressing alongside the Grand Master of Chinese martial arts in France.
These two new silver medals testify to Alexis de Vigan's consistent excellence. For the students of the Bai Long school, they confirm the exceptional quality of their teacher, reinforcing his role as a committed instructor. His persistent desire to promote Chinese martial arts in Normandy remains at the heart of his mission, inspiring his students to follow his example in the quest for martial excellence.
Can you give us a brief overview of your association?
Alexis De Vigan, for École Bái Lóng: École Bái Lóng is a traditional Chinese martial arts school located in Saint-Contest, just outside Caen in Normandy. Three disciplines are taught: Kung Fu, Taiji Quan (Taichi) and Qi Gong. This season, we're also offering a course focusing on weapons techniques, with the choice of the stick.
What are your goals and plans for 2023/24?
Alexis De Vigan: Our objective for this season is to pursue our development through these three energy and martial arts disciplines, which we consider to be closely linked within our school. Whether you're looking to preserve your health or acquire the skills of a martial art, there's something for everyone. We are also delighted to announce the launch of a new course which will merge Qi'gong and Taiji'quan (Taichi) every Wednesday morning. This initiative will enable participants to discover both disciplines in a single session.
What are your needs: members, volunteers...? How can we reach you?
Alexis De Vigan: Last season, our school welcomed over 40 students. Although our space is spacious, it has its limits in terms of extension. That's why we continue to give priority to enrolling students who have a real desire to engage in serious learning, and to facilitate this, we offer free trial lessons at the beginning of the year. If you'd like to join us, just drop in at class times. Full details of courses and times are available on our website : www.kungfucaen.com.
