Deaths - Message from Bernard LEFEVRE

I have learned today of the death of Bruno TOUPET, former president of AERN (2009 - 2011), and Nicolas MANKOWSKI's predecessor in this responsibility. The announcement in Le Figaro (October 26) mentions his death on October 20.
He had invested a great deal of time and energy in AERN over many years, with all the vigour and passion for which he was renowned. I had been in regular contact with him in recent years, and I knew he was ill: nevertheless, he kept abreast of developments in our association, which was very close to his heart.
My thoughts go out to his brother and all his family. My thoughts also go out to his father, a great surgeon, who was one of my teachers.
Another great AERN figure has left us.
